T.G.I.F.

Happy Friday, y'all! :)

Me, Mom, and Dad were supposed to go camping this weekend, but Saturday and Sunday are going to be rainy, so scratch that. No more camping. Which stinks :(....I've never been camping during the autumn season so I was looking forward to it, plus the campground's up near Word of Life and we were going to visit the BI because my high school was playing a soccer game there against Mountainside. I was excited to see some of my WOL family. But I'm trying not to let it get me too down...I know I'll be up to WOL in October for Harvest Jamboree. Pretty stoked about that. I love only living an hour away!

But at least I'll get to sleep in tomorrow. I always love doing that. Saturdays I don't normally get to sleep in because I have to work. But I'm taking it off anyway even though we're not going camping.

On an adorable note, I got to see my niece alot this week! I got to babysit her two times :) three if you count the 15 minutes I watched her while her Momma went out to get some corn on the cob. I also took a walk one evening with Elise and Laura. I only saw her yesterday but I already miss her! I absolutely LOVE my niece!

By the way, Happy 6 months, Elise! :)

Have a great weekend everybody! Since it'll be rainy, may I suggest seeing the new movie by the Kendrick's brothers (Fireproof, Facing the Giants), Courageous! I just might go see it this weekend :)

An Apple a Day...

One of my family's favorite things to do during the Autumn season is go apple picking! Around where I'm from, It's pretty much *the* thing to do this time of year. The past fews years I've gone with my Mom, little brother, older sister and brother-in-law. This year was different.

Why?

...because it was my neice's, Elise, first time going. :)
Mind you, she's only hitting 6 months old, so she's not gonna remember it...but boy, we sure will.
Plus there were about 27 cameras snapping pictures of her cause she's just too darn cute not to take pictures!

If you look closely, she's got apples in her lap. She LOVES apples!!

Mmm Mmm! Nothing like a crisp apple straight outta the orchard!

This is our go-to place every year! We also pick up some cider and fresh cider donuts. Is your mouth watering yet?

I love taking close-up pictures of apples, and I made this look even cooler with my editing program.

She always has her fingers in her mouth, but I think she had them in her mouth this time to lick all the apple juice she got on her hands :)

Some more editing fun. I kinda did a "Twilight"-themed picture. I like mine better than the other one, but I'm biased, of course ;)

While picking them, we also ate some and her daddy, Nick, let her try it, and she sucked out the juices. Any time we'd try and take the apple away, she'd cry! It was too funny!

We had Nick and Guiseppe do about 5 or 6 jumping pictures. This was the only one that came out the best! I love jumping pictures :D

This place is HUGE! This is only a small portion of this awesome orchard!

Hope you find time to visit an apple orchard this Autumn!

It's another one of those lazy, Autumn (yep, I say Autumn instead of Fall) Sundays. You've just gotten back from a great morning at church, you change into your Sunday chill-out clothes, and the football games are starting on TV...Sundays are awesome! Know what could make it better?

Blackberry cobbler. :D

Made this for the 1st time today and it came out pretty tasty.

Got the recipe from a Food Network Show, The Pioneer Woman. She has a great blog too, with a lot more recipes :p

This cobbler's a little different from other cobblers. This one is more cake-y. Which in my opinion, is awesome!

Here's the recipe:

You need:

1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup whole milk
1/2 stick of melted butter
blackberries, rinsed

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix well flour, sugar, milk, and butter.
Pour batter into a buttered/greased baking dish.
Sprinkle the blackberries on the batter. Don't mix it together.
Dust a 1/4 cup of sugar on the top.
Bake for 1 hour.

And here I go...

Well, here's my attempt at another blog. I've tried Wordpress but I think I like Blogger better. Don't rat me out now ;) The title of my blog is "Life of a Hockey and Horses Girl". I absolutely love hockey and horses! I get to see hockey quite a bit, but horses not so much which is a shame...I've never stopped loving them ever since I was a little girl.

Who knows? Maybe someday I'll have my own horse :)

Hey, a girl can dream can't she?
